As a naturopathic physician, I am trained as a primary care doctor who places an emphasis on natural healing. I offer healthcare to the entire family, from babies through to the elderly, including well baby and well child visits, pap and breast exams, pre- and post-natal support, evaluation of acute illnesses such as colds/flu, ear infections and fevers, and I provide routine and specialty testing. I am happy to work with your GP but if you don’t have one, don’t worry; I am equipped to treat your acute or chronic condition.

My approach to medicine focuses on two aspects: prevention and treatment of the root cause of illness. I use a holistic, evidence-based approach to care that utilizes the best of natural and conventional medicine. Some therapies that I may use include nutrition and lifestyle counselling, botanical medicine, acupuncture, IV therapy, counselling, vitamin and mineral supplementation, and physical medicine including soft tissue release, as well as prescription medications when the situations calls for it.

The fees for naturopathic services are typically not covered by MSP, similar to chiropractors and physiotherapists, however part/all of the fee may be covered by your Extended Health Coverage. Contact The Birch Tree if you need help determining if this is the case for you. It is our goal to make quality healthcare accessible to everyone. You may have partial fee coverage through MSP if you receive premium assistance.

Below is a list of the current fee schedule, which is in accordance with the standardized fee schedule recommended by the British Columbia Naturopathic Association (BCNA). Fees are GST exempt.

New Patient Visit

$170 for 60 minutes, includes detailed medical history, personalized care plan ($225 for extended initial visit).

Return Visit

$90 for 30 minutes (45 and 60 min appointments also available), includes check in, continuation of care plan. Phone consults available for return patients only at discretion of doctor.


$90 for 45 minutes (return patients only; new acupuncture-only patient appointments are 60 minutes, $110)

Additional services offered:

Intramuscular B12 injections – $10.50 during an appointment; $25 on its own

Package of 5 B12 injections – $105

Specialty intramuscular injections (adrenal, fat burner, energy, etc) – $35

Myers Cocktail (Intravenous (IV) Vitamin and Mineral Therapy) – 30 min appointment + $45

Cupping (45 min) – $120 (no tax)

Scratch Allergy Testing (environmental allergies) – $45 (no tax)

Blood Allergy Testing (IgG food allergies) – $275 (no tax)

Hormone Testing – varies by requirement

*Payment is expected at the time of service and can be made with cash, debit TAP (only) or credit card (VISA, Mastercard, AMEX). Cheques are not accepted at this time. EMT is an option with approval from Dr. Ghent.

In order to ensure that those requiring health care are able to receive it, we respectfully request 24 hours notice for appointment cancellations. Late cancellations or a missed appointment may be subject a full appointment fee. All prescription fills outside an appointment will incur a $25 charge.
